My Study Abroad Experience

To say that my study abroad experience was the scariest, exhilarating, most life-changing experience is an understatement. As I sit in the Miami airport shortly after arriving back to the US, the amount of emotion built up is quite frankly, consuming. So for my own sanity, because we all know I have very little of it, I wanted to use blogging in order to help me process my feelings and emotions, but also be able to share my emotional experience with anyone contemplating doing a study abroad, or even just traveling out of the country for the first time.

Ecuador Series 4 out of 4

Not to diminish all the greatness in mainland Ecuador, but THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. LAS ISLAS ENCANTADAS. I can easily say that I was looking forward to the Galapagos the ENTIRE trip and let me tell you, it lived up to…no, it exceeded absolutely every expectation.

Ecuador Series 3 out of 4

Saying that this program was absolutely NON-STOP seems inadequate. We truly had 0 time to think about anything other than the activity or class for that given day. After arriving home from Tiputini at 7:00 PM, I immediately did laundry (because I honestly felt ashamed to walk into my host family’s house smelling as repugnant as I did) and then started to repack because my family wanted to take me to another city in Ecuador the following morning called Baños (no not the bathrooms, but yes I was very confused when she first told me).

Ecuador Series 2 out of 4

Wow! I definitely imagined having more than enough time to blog about all my adventures, however that has not been the case. In fact, my schedule has been pure chaos, and while the trips are full of fun facts and tons of memories, the classes that accompany the fun have lived up to the “entire semester in two weeks intensive class” criteria. Despite the stress, these classes have been so eye-opening and have brought about a wealth of information I will carry around with me for a lifetime! Now to backtrack…

Ecuador Series 1 out of 4

¡Hola de Ecuador! Some may know, some may not, but I had the incredible opportunity to pick up my life and move it to South America for the summer! Ecuador to be precise. I am doing an environmental studies program through University of San Francisco Quito and the excitement is too much for a single blog post, so this is post one out of a three part series!
